Every application on Luminid moves through visible stages and ends in a decision. You can see exactly where you stand at any moment on your applications page, and companies on Luminid commit to a decision on every application. Here is the path.
The stages
- Application received. Your application is in. The team sees your profile and your evidence next.
- Work simulation. If the role includes one, you complete a short work sample. It is scored against documented criteria at a fixed threshold, and you are told before it starts that scoring is automated.
- In review. The team reviews your work sample and profile. Nothing is needed from you.
- Interview. The team schedules a conversation with you. Watch your email for the invitation. Some roles have more than one interview stage.
- Background check. Some roles include the company's standard checks. Nothing is needed from you unless they contact you.
- Offer. The company prepares an offer. It appears on your timeline and in your email.
- Decision. Every application ends here, and you hear the outcome either way.
Some roles check basic requirements at apply time or right after your simulation, things like work authorization or a required license. If a requirement is not met, your timeline says so honestly instead of going silent.
The no ghosting commitment
Each company sets a decision policy, a promised number of days from your last completed step to a decision. The policy is shown on your application timeline. If the hiring team goes quiet, Luminid reminds them before the deadline. If they still take no action past the deadline and a grace period, the application closes automatically and you are notified honestly. An automatic close is a failure of the company's process, not a judgment of your work, and your timeline says exactly that.
After a decision
If the answer is no, the decision includes the reason category, and when the team was looking for skills you have not verified yet, your timeline shows them with a direct path to practice them in the Skill Lab. Your verified skills stay with you for every future application. You can also withdraw an application yourself at any time.
