You are a Customer Support Specialist at a project management software company. This email just arrived from Renata Ibarra, operations lead at a 40-person logistics firm that pays $890 a month. "This is the second time this month your platform logged my whole team out in the middle of dispatch hours. We missed two delivery windows yesterday and one of our drivers sat idle for an hour. Your status page said everything was fine, which honestly makes it worse. I want a refund for this month and a reason to believe this will not happen again, or we move to another tool by Friday." Write your reply to Renata.

Write the reply you would actually send. There is no template. The check looks at how you handle the frustration, what you own, and what happens next.

The research

Selection research has ranked the hiring signals for decades. A sample of the actual work says more about future performance than the years and titles a résumé lists.

The science

What actually predicts whether someone can do the job

Predictive validity, across two major meta-analyses shown together. The longer the bar, the better that signal predicts real job performance.

Work sample testsSackett 2022 — Schmidt & Hunter 1998.33–.54
Structured interviewsSackett 2022 — Schmidt & Hunter 1998.42–.51
Years of experienceSchmidt & Hunter 1998.18
Years of educationSchmidt & Hunter 1998.10

Scale 0 to 0.6

The 2022 revision (Sackett et al.) lowered most estimates across the board, including credential-based methods — but the gap between demonstrated work and claimed credentials holds under both analyses.

Simulations decide who gets interviewed; structured interviews decide who gets hired. Luminid replaces resume screening, not the interview.

How it works

Do the work once. Carry the proof everywhere.

Do a real work task

A short simulation of real work, answered in your own words. Not a quiz, not a personality test, no trick questions.

Get scored against reviewed criteria

An automated system scores your response against reviewed criteria at a fixed threshold, and your own words are quoted back as the evidence.

Carry the verification anywhere

It lives on your profile, on your exported résumé, in a QR code, and behind a link. Anyone can check it in thirty seconds.

Nothing wasted

You never walk away with nothing

The work you do while applying is not spent on one company. It joins your Work Record and stays yours.

It survives every outcome

A skill you verify during an application stays on your Record even when the answer is no.

It counts everywhere

A verification is worth the same wherever you earned it. Every company on Luminid sees it at full weight.

It adds up

Each application can leave your Record stronger than it found it. The next one starts further ahead.

Never left in the dark

Every application gets an answer

You never wonder where you stand. Every application on Luminid ends in a decision or an honest, explained close. It never just goes quiet.

A decision, or an honest close

A company either decides on your application or closes it with a reason. Silence is not one of the options here.

Companies show their record

How often a company decides, and how fast, is published on its page. The promise comes with receipts.

What you earn

A credential that explains itself

Every verification is a public card a stranger can read in one screen. The claim is narrow on purpose, and the evidence is quoted from your own work.

The format is part of the proof. See how the card reads for each one.

“I would confirm the double charge on our side first, so the customer never has to prove it twice. The refund timeline goes in my first reply, not the second.”

Demonstrated this skill in a work sample, scored against reviewed criteria at a fixed threshold, with the evidence quoted above. This credential does not assert seniority, suitability for a role, or predicted performance.

For job seekers

A fair shot, judged on your work

Prove a skill in about twenty minutes and own the proof forever. No pedigree filters, no keyword games, and your accent never takes the test. Your work makes the case.

For employers

See the work before the interview

Applications arrive with verified skills and quoted evidence, so your team reads real work instead of claims, on assessments built to be audited, not just believed. Interviews go to the human questions.

From the founder

I spent seven years in recruiting, including Amazon and Grupo Bimbo. The pattern never changed. Capable people were filtered out on paper, and confident writers got through. The résumé measures how well you describe work. It should measure the work.

Luminid is early, and we say so plainly. Judge us on the methodology, which is published in the open, and on the credentials themselves. Every one of them can be checked.

Questions

Straight answers

What does a verification actually mean?

Exactly this. Demonstrated this skill in a work sample, scored against reviewed criteria, at a fixed threshold, with quoted evidence. It never means qualified, vetted, or ready for a role, and it never predicts job performance. The claim stays narrow so it stays true.

How is the work scored?

An automated system scores each response against documented criteria, and the methodology is published in the open. The score arrives with your own words quoted as evidence. If you believe a score is wrong, you can request a human review.

What does it cost?

Proving skills is free for job seekers, and the practice check on this page needs no account. Employers pay for hiring tools, and the pricing is public.

How does an employer check a verification?

Every verification has a code and a public page. Enter the code at luminid.org/verify or scan the QR on an exported résumé. The check takes about thirty seconds and shows the skill, the format, the date, and the holder.

What happens if I do not meet the bar?

Nothing public. A run below the threshold never appears on your profile and is never called a verification. Practice results are always labeled practice.

Prove a skill in the next ten minutes.
