1. Your rights, in short

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, Luminid gives you the same core set of rights over your personal data: see it, correct it, delete it, take it with you, and have a person review any automated score. This page tells you exactly how to exercise each one and how long each takes.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Full detail on what we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy at luminid.org/privacy.

Most of these rights are self-serve. You do not need to write a formal letter; the tools are in your settings.

2. Access and export

You can see the data we hold about you and take a copy with you.

Self-serve: go to Profile, then Settings, then Privacy, and use "Request data export". The export includes your profile data, simulation history and results, application history, and account settings, in a structured machine-readable format (JSON or CSV).

By email: write to hello@luminid.org with the subject line "Data subject request" and ask for an access copy.

Your verifications are also portable by design: you can export a resume that carries them and share your verification records anywhere, at any time, without asking us.

3. Correction

Most of your data is directly editable in your account: profile details, work history, preferences, and settings. Edit it there and the change is immediate.

For anything you cannot edit yourself (for example, a factual error in an account record), email hello@luminid.org with the subject line "Correction request" and say what is wrong and what it should be. Note that simulation results are not editable on request, because they are scored records; if you believe a score is wrong, use the human review right in Section 5.

4. Deletion

You can delete your account yourself: go to Profile, then Settings, then Privacy, and use "Delete account". You can also request deletion by email at hello@luminid.org with the subject line "Deletion request".

What happens when you delete:

  • Your directly identifying data (name, email, photo, contact fields) is erased or replaced with a non-identifying placeholder within thirty (30) days of the verified request
  • Your login is permanently removed from our authentication system within the same period
  • Backup copies are purged within thirty (30) days through normal backup rotation
  • What remains is only what the law requires us to keep (for example, invoice records under tax law) and anonymized data that can no longer be linked to you

Deletion is permanent. Verifications cannot be restored after deletion, so export your resume first if you want to keep the record.

5. Human review of automated scoring

Simulation responses on Luminid are scored by an automated system against documented criteria (the full statement of where and how is at luminid.org/legal/ai-disclosure). You have the right to have a person review any automated score you receive.

How to use it: from your scored result, use the request review option, or email hello@luminid.org with the subject line "Human review request" and identify the simulation result. A person reviews your original response against the same documented criteria. The outcome, with reasoning, comes back to you, and it can change the score in either direction. Requesting review is free and is never held against you.

You can also express your point of view about a result and contest it through the same channel.

6. Timelines

The commitments we hold ourselves to:

  • Acknowledgment of any data rights request: within five (5) business days
  • Resolution of access, correction, deletion, and export requests: within thirty (30) days
  • Residents of Costa Rica exercising ARCO rights under Law No. 8968: response within ten (10) business days
  • Complex or multiple requests: we may extend by up to two further months where applicable law allows it, and we will tell you before the first deadline passes, with the reason
  • Human review requests: acknowledged within five (5) business days, resolved as quickly as a careful review allows, and you are told the expected timeline when we acknowledge

We will ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, so that no one else can exercise these rights over your data. Requests are free, except that manifestly unfounded or excessive repeat requests may carry a reasonable fee where the law permits.

7. If you are not satisfied

Contact us first at hello@luminid.org; most issues are resolved directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your data protection authority:

  • Costa Rica: Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB)
  • EU and EEA: the supervisory authority of your country of residence
  • United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
  • California: rights under the CCPA and CPRA apply as described in the Privacy Policy

Exercising any right on this page will never cause your account to be treated less favorably.
