# Luminid > Verified hiring. People prove skills through short real work tasks (simulations), scored against reviewed criteria at a fixed threshold, and carry that evidence anywhere. Job Seekers never pay. Employers read scored work samples with quoted evidence instead of resume claims. Key facts about how Luminid works: - A Luminid verification means exactly one thing, quoted verbatim on every credential: "Demonstrated this skill in a work sample, scored against reviewed criteria, at a fixed threshold, with quoted evidence." It never means qualified, vetted, ready, or predicted performance. - Verified and self-reported skills are always labeled separately and never blurred. - Scoring is automated against documented criteria that people wrote and review. Job Seekers see a disclosure before any scoring and can request human review of any score. - The verification threshold is fixed at 70 out of 100, the same for every person and every simulation. A result below the threshold publishes nothing. - Simulation formats are written, spoken, or code, depending on the skill. Retries have waits (24 hours before a second attempt, 48 hours before a third, 7 days after that) and sessions carry integrity checks. - The skills catalogue holds 18,500+ skills across 34 domains. 43 skills are verifiable today. Every other skill page has a demand waitlist, and demand decides what goes live next. - Practice and guest results are always labeled practice, never a verification. ## How verification works - [Try a simulation](https://www.luminid.org/try): Free practice simulations with no account.
